Arabian Horse Insider Shows Sponsored by
If you ever find yourself getting somehow inexplicably “numb” to how lucky we are to be able to be part of this Arabian horse lifestyle, just do youself a little favor….go to an event where new people are observing these horses for the first time, and you will once again realize how incredibly fortunate and privileged we are to be part of this, let alone to be owners of these incredible creatures.
I’m here at the Egyptian Event at the Kentucky Horse Park and there are lots of people who are walking around the park who have little or no experience with horses in general, and many are seeing Arabians for the first time. As I walked from the show arena to the stall area amongst these admiring novices, and the awe they expressed to each other about the Arabians was stunning to me, and it opened my eyes once again to how breathtaking it is to be near an Arabian horse. “Look how they float on air when they trot”….”Look how they hold their heads and tails up so proudly”…”I can’t believe they have so much presence and beauty”….”I didn’t know horses could look like this”….and…..”Are these horses really real”?!?!?….are just a few of the comments I heard within a five minute span of time as I walked.
So in case, you feel yourself getting too immersed in the business or the competitions or the logistics involved in your Arabian horse experience and therefore a little numb to the awesome beauty we experience with these horses, go find yourself amongst some newcomers and you’ll be stunned as I was at how people react to our breed when they experience it for the first time. More importantly, you will re-live your first exposure to these horses vicariously through the eyes of the novices who see them for the first time, and you will be reminded how privileged we are to be associated with this most noble and glorious breed.
What the Egyptian Event Does So Right
Jeff, I’m not much of a blogger, but I felt compelled to “blog” tonight! In short, I wanted to say, these blogs are extremely valuable to our breed. I also wanted to thank you personally for investing so much time and effort “reminding” us as to why we are part of this amazing breed. The horses, friends, family experiences, and so many other reasons are truly what make the “Arabian Horse” such a great breed.. we are all blessed to be a part of such an amazing journey with the Arabian Horse!
